HVAC Systems Attends the Annual Restaurant Facility Management Association Conference
HVAC Systems had the honor of exhibiting at the annual Restaurant Facility Management Association conference in Austin, TX this past month! We’re fresh from the event and happy to pass along some great things we learned, networks we built, and some of the cooler aspects of the event as a whole.
What Is the Restaurant Facility Management Association?
The Restaurant Facility Management Association (RFMA) is a membership organization—an organization dedicated to a particular profession or industry—that focuses on, as you would expect, restaurant facility management. The RFMA tackles an exceptionally broad range of applications and subjects, but of primary interest to our team, they deal with technology, networking, and education. RFMA, and organizations like it, is the core of helping members to advance in professional knowledge and skills.
Why Does the Conference Matter?
In the shortest of terms, conferences like these matter because they afford our company the opportunity to grow and evolve. In these places, we meet with peers, vendors, and innovators, all of which provide us with the chance to learn from each other—new technologies and tools, best practices and techniques, and ways to build a better, more productive business as a whole. HVAC and refrigeration companies, just like any other business, can’t afford to just stagnate. The industry moves forward, whether you do or not. We’re happy to take the opportunity to stay right on the cutting edge!
Our booth—run by Scott and Ralph—was visited by many restaurant facilities managers who were interested in our HVAC and refrigeration services in Houston. We also fielded tons of technical questions from business owners and other contractors who aren’t native to our area, and we were happy to provide answers and some trade knowledge.
While at the conference, we met up with a company that offers pleated filters for rooftop package units that completely eliminate air bypass by obviating the cardboard that surrounds traditional pleated filters. That’s an extremely interesting concept, and we’re considering partnering with them as a means of better equipping our company to serve local clients in the Houston area.
HVAC Systems Is a Proud Member of the RFMA
To wrap the event up, we were grateful to have the opportunity to listen to the keynote speaker, Roy Firestone. He put on a great show, combining his surprisingly great singing and his stories of the thousands of famous athletes he has interviewed over the past several decades. Thanks, Roy, for sharing your stories with us! And thanks RFMA for hosting a great convention—we’re a proud member and looking forward to next year!
